In 1955, pretty much as soon as the first Disneyland was opened, cats started showing up in the grounds. Disney realized quickly that these cats were not harming anyone, and were in fact useful to the park, helping keep the rodent population down.

And so, they decided to adopt the cat as a whole. They are neutered or spayed, fed, and taken care of in the park. Truth be told, these cats enjoy the best that housecats and feral cats enjoy. It’s a charmed life to be a frequent visitor in Disneyland, and even better to actually live there, like these cats do.
